STORY
A limited series written in 2024, this voice project through poetic expression, questions morality when faced with inexplicable spirituality of love. "Sfasciafamiglie" in Italian is homewrecker, paying homage to my love for learning languages, Italian being one of the first I learned to read alone. Similar to the Wounds of a Mother's Womb, the HAUS MEALANI CONSERVANCY creative home presents this project as one, from start to finish tale of a narrator learning and unlearning morality in the face and question of love, gender roles, generational masculine comprehension, and most importantly self-hood. This voice projects ends at the first volume. This piece follows a young woman who falls in love with an already unattached man, unbeknownst to her. The series follows betrayal, love, questions of ethics, and her ultimate question with herself -- if I loved me enough, would love for you exist? This series ultimately attempts to reconcile, through the young narrator, what it means to be the woman, who bears the burden of society in the narrator of the "homewrecker" whilst the man in his reputation, is largely unscathed.
