The HAUS MEALANI™ world was born from my love of art, my passion for storytelling, my belief in women building lasting legacies, and my lifelong commitment to education, entrepreneurship, and community impact. Throughout my career, I have worked with youth across diverse educational settings, mentored young people, practiced trauma-informed approaches in the education systems, and led communications initiatives rooted in diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. These experiences shaped my belief that entrepreneurship and community impact can exist together.
They also revealed the profound effect that the loss of privacy has on young people—especially young women. I, myself, am shaped by the age of technology, social media, and globalization. In an age of constant visibility, I believe privacy protects creativity, identity, agency, authorship, and the space to develop an authentic sense of self. That belief shapes both my work and the way I choose to live. My dedication to being present in community engagement through the hope to re-invest and support youth mentorship projects, encourages this privacy.
I intentionally maintain a limited digital footprint, because I believe meaningful storytelling begins with observation, listening, and genuine human connection—which is inherently curtailed if I transform my private space into a public arena. Fiction allows me to tell emotionally truthful stories while respecting the privacy and lived experiences of real people -- of me and those around me.
HAUS MEALANI CONSERVANCY™ serves as the human impact arm of the HAUS MEALANI™ world, using storytelling and the arts to foster empathy, resilience, and community. We remain intentionally small, prioritizing thoughtful storytelling over mass production. We keep our socials and global presence intentionally minimal and small. HAUS MEALANI™ Holdings LLC serves as the entrepreneurial arm of the HAUS MEALANI™ world, advancing artistic innovation, creative business development, yet never losing the human spirit of storytelling.
I will never forget being told as a young woman pursuing storytelling, "In this day and age, if you can't sell your private life, you might as well not write." I rejected that belief then, and I reject it now.
In an era shaped by surveillance, constant digital performance, and a womanhood forced to perform private narratives under the threat of relevancy and relatability, we choose a different path. We value privacy, thoughtful storytelling, and creative integrity. By protecting my own private life—and respecting the privacy of those around me—I hope to build stories, businesses, and institutions that strengthen communities and leave a lasting, meaningful impact.
